In 2008, Shea Tillman dedicated a 3rd year design studio to the research and design of assistive technology. The collaboration model included design students, rehabilitation students, and local participants willing to share their experience living with a disability. This model has changed and evolved over the years with themes ranging from prosthetic design to playground equipment for those on the autism spectrum. You will see a sample of the variety of projects our students have explored. This initiative has helped to secure federal grants from both the Veterans Administration and HUD as well as Tiger Giving Day Funding from the AU Family.
